1The hospital's case log
The times and places, nothing else. The file is opened in this browser. Only the location (and room, where there is one), the date, the two anesthesia times and, where the log has them, the in-room and out-of-room times are read; surgeon, procedure, diagnosis, patient and provider columns are never read. The file itself is never stored: Save to the workspace (step 5) keeps just those columns, for Steele and Tony, so the report opens again from Saved hospitals.
What to ask a hospital for: three months at least (twelve if they have it), every anesthetizing location, a date on both the start and the stop, one row per case, and labor epidurals marked apart from C-sections.
2What went in
Days of each weekday in the data — the averages divide by these.
3Campuses and departments
Each location in the log is put with a campus and a department, read from its name. The report groups by these, so change any that are wrong. A separate building is a campus of its own — coverage is counted campus by campus, because nobody covers two buildings in the same hour — so choose New campus… to split one out. Leave out drops a location's cases.

4The coverage
For each campus, the staffing grid the report sets the cases against — a published proforma (Business Development › Proformas › Add proforma), one of the original proformas, a table in the uploaded workbook, or a grid added below from a file or typed in. Compare with sets a second model beside it — the hospital's current coverage beside the one we propose, say — and the report shows the two side by side. Rows the case log does not cover are left out (a log of operating rooms says nothing about the cath lab), and you can tick any back in. With no grid, the report shows use only.
Add a coverage gridfrom a file, or typed in
For a model that is not a published proforma — the hospital's current coverage, or a proposal still being worked out. A grid added here can be chosen for any campus below, as the coverage or to compare with, and it is saved with the hospital.
From a file
An Excel or CSV staffing grid: a column of locations headed Site, Location or Room, and a column for each day holding hours such as 7a-3p or 0700-1500 — or a Start and an End column under each day. A proforma workbook's In-House Hours tables are found too.
Typed in
One row per location and the hours for each day: 7a-3p, 6:30a-5p, 0700-1500, 7-3 (read as 7 am to 3 pm), or 7a-7a for 24 hours. Write 7-7 with letters — 7a-7p, 7p-7a or 7a-7a — since it means different things at different hospitals. Leave a day blank when it is not staffed. Rows copied from a spreadsheet can be pasted into the first box.
